My Journey in Bonsai Table Making
From a young age, I was captivated by design and craftsmanship. Hours spent sketching turned into years of formal training in cabinetmaking and ornamental carving, guided by master artisans who taught me the art of proportion, precision, and timeless joinery.

My professional career took me from prestigious Belgian workshops to teaching woodworking for over two decades, where I passed on the skills and discipline I had learned. Along the way, I developed a deep respect for traditions that can’t be taught in books — they must be felt, practiced, and lived.

Bonsai table making began as a personal necessity. For a club exhibition, I built a table to perfectly complement my own bonsai. That first piece revealed a challenge unlike any other: achieving harmony between tree and stand on such a small scale, while honoring Japanese joinery traditions. Soon, requests from fellow enthusiasts turned my passion into a full-time calling.

Today, I work alone, giving full attention to each bespoke table. Every piece is designed to enhance the bonsai it supports, with proportions, materials, and finishes that reflect both tradition and individuality. My mission is simple — to help elevate bonsai presentation in the West, creating stands where craftsmanship and nature meet in perfect harmony.
